NACE Corrosion Conference to Reveal New Data for Ductile Iron Pipe

Maury D. Gaston, manager of Marketing Services for AMERICAN Ductile Iron Pipe and chairman of the Alabama Iron and Steel Council, will present at the 2019 NACE Corrosion Conference on Metallized Arc-Sprayed Zinc Coated Ductile Iron Pipe. His presentation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at 11:30 a.m. in Room 202 A-C.

For the first time in a technical conference or public setting, the criteria within the Design Decision Model® will be revealed and explained.  The Design Decision Model®, which was developed by Corrpro and the Ductile Iron Pipe Research Association, uses points to assess likelihood and consequence of corrosion in the two-dimensional DDM matrix.

Another noteworthy component of the session is that data from specimens of zinc-coated ductile iron pipe that were buried within the intensely corrosive soils of the Florida Everglades will be presented.

This and other specimen from the Everglades will be discussed.

Each of these – revelation of the DDM point scale and results from the Everglades – are worth your attention in their own right. Together in one presentation, this is a can’t miss opportunity.
