Investing in our nation’s water and wastewater infrastructure is a bipartisan issue that has support among Democrats and Republicans. A 2018 national poll conducted by the Value of Water Campaign found that 88 percent of Americans support increasing federal investment to rebuild water infrastructure and 75 percent want Congress to invest in our nation’s infrastructure before our systems fail. As a new Congress is seated next year, funding for our nation’s infrastructure will continue to be a priority.

AMERICAN Cast Iron Pipe Company is proud to be an AMERICAN manufacturer that not only provides iron and steel pipe for water and wastewater transmission but also electric-resistance-welded steel pipe for oil and natural gas, valves and fire hydrants for flow control and safety, and large castings for agricultural, construction, and mining equipment. Our products serve as building blocks for U.S. infrastructure, and they also play an important role in the nation’s Water-Energy-Food Nexus.

In this article, AMERICAN Ductile Iron Pipe and AMERICAN SpiralWeld Pipe Marketing Services Manager Maury Gaston defines and describes the Water-Energy-Food Nexus and how AMERICAN supports it.
