More than 60 train enthusiasts, known as the World’s Greatest Rail Fans (WGRF), from around the U.S. and Canada visited AMERICAN Cast Iron Pipe Company on Oct. 2, 2015, to see the company’s prized locomotives. This year, the WGRF is celebrating its 50th anniversary of preserving railroad history through photography.
AMERICAN was one of many sites the WGRF visited; rail fans also saw locomotives at Vulcan Materials, U.S. Steel Fairfield Works, JetPlex Industrial Park in Huntsville and the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum in Calera.
