AMERICAN Innovation On Display at WEFTEC 2015

The 2015 Water Environment Federation’s Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) will be held Sept. 26-30, in Chicago, Illinois. At Exhibit #2031, attendees will see two new innovations from AMERICAN – the Earthquake Joint System and Series 3500 gate valve – as well as other AMERICAN products designed to meet our customers’ toughest challenges and offer superior performance compared to other pipe materials.

AMERICAN’s Earthquake Joint System, made of strong and dependable ductile iron, is designed to protect pipeline infrastructure during seismic events. The system, for use with AMERICAN’s pipe, valves and hydrants, expands, contracts and deflects to resist the tremendous underground forces from an earthquake.

AMERICAN Flow Control’s Series 3500 resilient wedge gate valve is designed for use in drinking water, wastewater and fire protection systems that might need a higher pressure rating. With its ductile iron construction, the Series 3500 resilient wedge gate valve meets or exceeds the requirements of ANSI/AWWA C515, is UL Listed and FM Approved in applicable configurations at 350 psi, and is available in sizes 4-12 inches. Using a time proven design, AMERICAN Flow Control resilient wedge gate valves are an ideal solution for both water and wastewater applications.

Other items on display at Exhibit #2031 include: AMERICAN Flex-Ring pipe and gate valve, 2100 resilient seated check valve, and HDD demonstration unit.

Also at WEFTEC 2015, AMERICAN Ductile Iron Pipe Marketing Services Manager Maury Gaston and AMERICAN Flow Control Marketing and Technical Manager Derek Scott will talk with Water Online Radio about recent AMERICAN innovations and how installing ductile iron pipe can help utilities increase energy efficiency and reduce pumping costs. Listen in Monday, Sept. 28, at 11 a.m. Central Time.

At WEFTEC, water industry professionals from around the world learn the latest technologies and services for water environment preservation and sustainability. For more information, visit weftec.org.
