Gaston Elected Chair of Auburn Alumni Engineering Council

Maury D. Gaston, manager of Marketing Services for AMERICAN Ductile Iron Pipe, has been selected chair of the Auburn Alumni Engineering Council. The council advises Dean of Engineering Christopher B. Roberts on various matters pertaining to the college. Gaston will serve a three-year term as chair.

“Auburn Engineering has enjoyed a deep heritage of alumni involvement in its journey as a premier force in engineering education,” notes Roberts. “Maury has done a tremendous job in aiding us since he joined the council in 2002. He will now be in a position to build on the record of leadership he has already established.”

Gaston, a third-generation graduate of Auburn University, earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1982. He joined AMERICAN’s Sales team the same year.

Gaston is a member of the American Water Works Association and serves as chair of standards which govern the design and manufacture of ductile iron pipe. In addition, he serves as director and past chair of the State of Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame and as a local, regional and national officer of Sigma Nu Fraternity.
